Scott McGarrahan
Founder

Scott McGarrahan founded Resolution Ranch in March of 2004 with the goal of helping teen boys grow and address their problems in a positive, nurturing environment.

Scott grew up in Arlington, Texas and attended the University of New Mexico.

Before founding the Ranch, Scott spent eight years playing professional football in the National Football League, where he played for the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans and San Diego Chargers.

While playing for the Titans, Scott realized he wanted to do something that would help young men in the same way that football had been a positive influence in his own life. Throughout his career, Scott had volunteered for such organizations as the Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Miracle Network, and the D.A.R.E. program, but he realized he could have the greatest impact by creating a facility specializing in counseling and academics for adolescent boys.

When he’s not working, Scott enjoys fishing, playing golf and spending time with his wife Lindsay, daughter Lucy and Georgia.

Neal Staab, LCCA
Administrator

Neal Staab is a licensed child-care administrator who joined Resolution Ranch in 2005 as the Administrator. Neal joins the Ranch with 8 years of experience in residential care. He is a member of The International Association of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certified Instructors®, the international standard for violence prevention and intervention training.

Neal holds degrees in sociology and criminal justice from the University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP), where he was on a full athletic scholarship for football. Neal’s tough experiences as a youth and later as a student athlete have taught him discipline, consistency and the ability to overcome adversity. These lessons have helped him better relate to residents and build relationships that contribute to their success.

When he's not at the Ranch, Neal lives in Irving with his wife and baby girl Emery. His hobbies include weight lifting, CrossFit, and playing basketball with Ranch residents.

Chris Langley,LMFT,LCCA
Program Director

Chris Langley moved to Texas and became Program Director at Resolution Ranch in 2005. Chris is in charge of treatment planning and intake assessment coordination.

Chris graduated from La Sierra University in 1996 with a bachelors of science in psychology with a clinical emphasis. He then attended Loma Linda University, where he received his masters in marriage and family science as well as certificates in alcohol drug abuse and family life education. Chris is also an AMFT Member.

After graduation, Chris worked as a therapist and case manager at Rancho Damacitas, a group home for boys with severe emotional and behavioral issues. There he advanced to Intake Coordinator and then Program Director. Chris next served as Social Services Manager/Intake Coordinator at St. Frances Home for Children, a foster home in Sacramento.

Chris is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and has completed numerous continuing education classes focused on addiction and behavior issues related to teenage boys. He is a Licensed Child-Care Administrator and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In his spare time, you’ll find him reading or playing basketball.

Alexamdra Spielvogel
Case Manager

Alex came to Resolution Ranch in January of 2013 as the Case Manager.

Alex received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in 2011. Prior to joining the ranch's team, Alex worked at Sacks Clinical Consulting writing state reports and Stepwise Clinic, a neuropsychology clinic in South Bend, Indiana, teaching kids how to learn.

Originally from Wisconsin, Alex was involved in programs such as Horse Sense for Special Riders, UW-L Psychology Club, and tutoring. Some of her hobbies include playing piano, reading, writing, horseback riding, exercising, and spending time outdoors.

Eric Benson
Curriculum Coordinator

Eric joined Resolution Ranch as the Curriculum Coordinator in 2008. He is responsible for supervising the teachers, managing student graduation plans, as well as implementing specialized learning programs. Eric is the Liaison to all outside educational institutions and he specializes in Math, Science, and Study Skills.

Eric received his degree in Multi-Disciplinary Sciences from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is also a member of NSTA, the National Science Teachers Association.

After college Eric went to work for Austin ISD at the Austin Alternative Learning Center where he dealt with teen struggling with drugs, teen violence, gangs and extreme situations including violence toward teachers. Eric has worked most of his career with teens in crisis as a volunteer and as a professional. He also was instrumental in the accreditation of Resolution Ranch through SACS the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Eric is married to Tammy and the father of one, a baby boy named Marley. His hobbies include hiking, camping, poetry, playing the flute and drums.

Scott Piland
Teacher

Scott joined Resolution Ranch as a Teacher in 2010. He is responsible for implementing specialized learning programs as well as tutoring in history and math.

Scott received his degree in history from Hardin-Simmons University and his PACT from LeTourneau University.

Scott is married to Mellisa Piland and they reside in Temple. His hobbies include reading, sports, hunting, fishing, and exercising.

Dominic M. Bihr
Senior Child Care Worker Supervisor

Dominic joined Resolution Ranch as Direct Care Staff in 2009 before being promoted to his current position of CCWS. His responsibilities include supervising direct care staff, progam implementation, running bi-weekly CCWS portion of treatment team meetings, as well ensuring the safety and security of students and staff.

After College Dominic or "Dom" as he is most often referred to worked at Wyhndam Lawn RTC in Lockport, New York. There he was a counselor and worked with gang members, juvenille offenders and Child Protective Services appointed children.

Dom has his cetification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention. He also finished first in his class in college and is the President of his Human Services Club. He is married to Raechel Bihr and currently has no kids. He enjoys spending time with his wife and adopted dog Attica. His hobbies are playing golf whenever he gets a chance.

Carla Moraw
Executive Assistant

Carla joined Resolution Ranch in 2005. Prior to being an Executive Assistant Carla was the Case Manager from 2005-2012. She is responsible for providing support to the executive team at Resolution Ranch. Carla Graduated from Sam Houston State in 1982 with a bachelors of science in criminology and corrections. She received her masters in counseling psychology at Tarleton State in 2005.

Carla did her practicum at Central Texas Counsel on Alchoholism and Drug abuse. After graduation, Carla came to work at Resolution Ranch as a case manager.

Carla is a member of Psi Chi , The Intenational Honor Society in Psychology. She also has a certificate in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills. Carla is the proud parent of Shannon who is a freshman at Blinn College. Her hobbies including reading true crime and carpentery.
